As part of broader program of World Bank, Postbank International Consultancy led in 1997 the review of the current postal financial services in the context of the Sri-Lanka banking and postal situation, present performance and capability; Definition and evaluation of strategic options for the development of a postal financial service system as an effective, privately owned Postal banking operation, providing efficient banking services on a nation-wide scale; and prepared the recommendations and action planning to move towards the implementation of a Postal Financial Services system.

The project included on-site Fact-finding, Market Analysis and Action Planning.
