The following is a statement from the Director General of the Universal Postal Union, Bishar A. Hussein:

“I regret to inform you that, due to the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Universal Postal Union and its partner, the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, have decided to postpone the 27th Universal Postal Congress which was to be held from 10-28 August in Abidjan.

We will continue monitoring the situation in coordination with the Ivorian authorities, and will propose appropriate dates once it is felt that the Congress can be held safely.
